Quamby Homestead, located just a short drive from Warrnambool and the Great Ocean Road, Quamby offers the opportunity to soak up some history whilst enjoying excellent accommodation in the serenity of a 3-acre garden setting.

Scattered throughout the garden, the accommodation includes the standard Mews Rooms and the original School and Carriage Houses. The Carriage House has two bedrooms (with king and single beds), bathroom, large living area, kitchen and delightful private terrace garden.

The School House, where the Lindsay children were once educated, now boasts a queen-size bed and bathroom with views over the dam. The five Mews Rooms have queen-size beds and en-suites and are surrounded by attractive gardens. Breakfast is served in the homestead dining room by a wood fire in winter, or on a shady verandah in the summer months, and evening meals are available by prior arrangement.

Quamby's superb gardens are a main feature of the property. Soak up the ambience, relax and enjoy, or spot kangaroo, echidna, possums, and study the historic plantings in a relaxed, private atmosphere.

Quamby is an ideal accommodation break in your travels, as it is situated between the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians, en-route Melbourne to Adelaide and just 20 minutes' drive from Warrnambool and 25mins from Port Fairy.

Stop to draw a breath or explore the unique volcanic coastline.

Warrnambool

Warrnambool is a major regional town on the Great Ocean Road coast. Attractions include the Southern Right Whale nursery, historic Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum and the Tower Hill volcanic crater & game reserve. Milk & cheese production are important in this dairy farming district.

The Great Ocean Road

The Great Ocean Road takes visitors on one of Australia’s greatest and most inspiring coastal drives. From Torquay near Geelong, to Nelson almost 300 kilometres to the west, the road snakes past cliffs, scenic lookouts, waterfalls, rainforests & sunken ships.

One of the most visited stretches is the Port Campbell National Park, home to native bushland & fauna. Buffeted by wild seas & fierce winds, the coastline has been sculpted over millions of years to form a series of striking natural features such as the Twelve Apostles & London Bridge.

The Great Ocean Road has a rich maritime past. Historic towns such as Port Fairy & Portland allow you to enjoy seafaring village life, with their fishing wharves, old pubs & beautifully preserved colonial buildings. A number of ships from the nineteenth & twentieth centuries have foundered off the rugged shipwreck coast, & their histories are recounted in many of the museums in the region.
